Services
What is B.A.D?
Books, Art & Dessert is an introductory literacy enrichment program for children from infancy to five years old. Our fun-filled activities provide children the opportunity to interact with B.A.D.’s Youth Ambassador, Madison Smith, who is a member of The National Society of High School Scholars and The National Honor Society.
B.A.D Goals
Madison’s goal is to help children develop a stronger vocabulary through verbal exchange, increase attention span, improve information processing skills…and enjoy books, art, and dessert.
B.A.D. practices the following skills at each session:
● Gross motor-physical exercise to involve large muscles that impact balance and coordination, and enhance attention and focus
● Fine motor-making movements using the small muscles in wrists, hands, and fingers
● Early literacy-helping to develop the skills necessary to become successful readers
● Social-communicating and interacting with others by verbal and non-verbal expression, listening, and following
